Today was the perfect day on OBX. Temps were in the 80's, low humidity, calm and clear ocean, warm water and the winds were from the SE. That means no biting flies. Oh and the fish were biting. At least the whiting. The waves did pick up a little later in the afternoon giving the boogie boarders some fun. Looks like we are in for a good week with the temps, and thunderstorm chances, increasing as we go towards the weekend. Here are today's standard pics.

How many whiting?Sandfleas for bait?I saw a fellow from NY, yesterday, on the beach; with the biggest one I've ever seen. Also seen a few small blues picked up close to dark, in the surf.

Just beautiful! Much nicer than here in the western mountains yesterday. 90 something degrees with 90% humidity. Miserable.

Are those lighthouses I see in the misty distance in the pics? The pics were taken in Southern Shores. That thing that looks like a lighthouse is a piling that used to be part of the Kitty Hawk pier before Izzy cut the pier in half.

Western US or western NC?

The better half and I are kickin around where the next move will be to (8-9 mo, 3 at the banks). Western NC is lookin pretty nice...lookin for input....but that's another thread...or site.

Sometimes I don't get to the beach until 11 or 12. I do a few things around the house first. Look for me with the fishing pole near the 132 Ocean Blvd marker.
